Motorola DP1400 / SL1600 Firmware Updates
This collection includes Motorola MOTOTRBO firmware update products for selected DP1400, SL1600 and related entry-level MOTOTRBO radios.
These firmware products are intended to help customers find the correct firmware stage for older radios that may need to be updated in steps. Some DP1400 and SL1600 radios cannot move directly from very old firmware to a later firmware version, so a legacy bridge firmware package may be required first.
Choosing the Correct DP1400 / SL1600 Firmware
The correct firmware depends on the exact radio model, current firmware version, codeplug version, CPS version and the update path required. The selected firmware product supplies the firmware package listed. It is not a guarantee that your radio can be updated beyond that firmware stage.
The aim of a legacy bridge firmware update is to move compatible older radios closer to the later Motorola CPS / CPS 2.0 update path where supported. Some radios may need more than one staged update before they can be moved further.
Older firmware → Legacy bridge firmware if required → Later firmware stage → CPS / CPS 2.0 update path where supported.

- Current codeplug version.
- CPS version being used.
- Whether the radio is a DP1400, SL1600 or related compatible model.
