The Motorola antenna/aerial is tuned for them frequencies as per the drop down for optimum range and receive sensitivity.
A Helical Antenna is 15cm in Length
A Stubby Antenna is 9cm in Length
Wideband Antenna is 20cm in Length and covers the whole frequency range.
The radio Antennas also have a small color ring on the bottom of them which identifies them easier when switching or purchasing new antennas. It cannot be seen once the antenna is fitted to the radio.
If you are in any doubt if you radio is VHF or UHF please check the long part number on the back of your radio and compare it to the chart below.
The antennas are the same for Analogue or digital version just make sure the antenna is within the frequency range for that Motorola R2 Radio.
