Motorola MOTOTRBO Firmware Updates
This collection includes Motorola MOTOTRBO firmware update products for selected DP2000, DP2000e, SL2600, DP3000, DP3000e, DP4000, DP4000e and DP4000Ex series radios.
These firmware products are intended to help customers find the correct update stage for their radio, whether they need an older legacy bridge firmware, the CPS 2.0 entry firmware, or a later CPS 2.0 firmware release such as M2025.01, M2025.02 or M2025.03.
Choosing the Correct Firmware Product
Motorola MOTOTRBO radios often need to be updated in the correct order. Very old radios may not be able to jump straight to the newest firmware. Some radios may need a legacy bridge firmware first, then a CPS 2.0 entry firmware, and only then a later CPS 2.0 firmware release.
| Firmware Product Type | Use This If | Typical Firmware Stage |
|---|---|---|
| Legacy Firmware Bridge Updates | Your radio is running very old firmware and cannot move directly to CPS 2.0 firmware. | Older R01 / R02 bridge firmware stages. |
| CPS 2.0 Entry Firmware | Your radio is ready to move onto the CPS 2.0 firmware path. | R02.10.10.0001 or similar CPS 2.0 entry stage. |
| Later CPS 2.0 Firmware Updates | Your radio is already on the CPS 2.0 firmware path and you require a later release. | M2025.01, M2025.02, M2025.03 and later releases where applicable. |
Typical Motorola Firmware Update Path
Older firmware → Legacy bridge firmware if required → CPS 2.0 entry firmware → Later CPS 2.0 firmware updates where applicable.
Software Update Limit / Entitlement Warning
Later Motorola MOTOTRBO radios may contain a software update limit, update timer, service expiry date or Software Update Management entitlement. This means the radio may not accept firmware beyond a certain point, even if you have the correct firmware package.
Purchasing a firmware download does not guarantee that your radio is entitled to accept the update. The radio, CPS software or update process may block the update if the radio is outside its permitted software update period.
Before Buying Firmware
To reduce the risk of selecting the wrong firmware, please check the following before ordering:
- Exact Motorola radio model.
- Current firmware version in the radio.
- Current codeplug version.
- CPS or CPS 2.0 version being used.
- Whether the radio is already on the CPS 2.0 update path.
- Any firmware update error message shown in CPS.
- Whether the radio is entitled to accept later software updates.
